30 Years of Allium: From Garlic to Growth

In 1994, when Allium started out in the Czech Republic, e-commerce was barely a whisper on the global stage. Then, our founders had a vision: a product called “catalogue” (cannot get more simple than that) which would help businesses categorise their products. Fast forward to today, and that humble “catalogue” has evolved into Pimics, a comprehensive PIM solution for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
→ Fun fact: Allium means garlic in Latin. Just as garlic cleanses the body, Allium has spent 30 years helping companies cleanse their operations, especially through ERP implementations. A fresh ERP system requires deep analysis, process optimisation, and removing anything unnecessary — just like garlic purges toxins.
This milestone wouldn’t have been possible without our incredible team, customers, and partners. So here’s a big thank you from all of us at Pimics — we couldn’t have done it without you!

Letting AI Take Care of Translations

AI has been creating quite a stir for a while now. As many companies that work with Microsoft’s products, we have been playing around with their Copilot, and in autumn 2024 at the EMEA Directions for Partners Conference, we were introduced to the new Microsoft Agents.
 
Apart from trying out what people at Microsoft have done, we’ve been working hard to come up with our own new AI features in Pimics. 2024 has seen us:
  • generating comprehensive description content from enriched product data
  • enabling automated translations of texts for product data.
 
We’re happy to see both these functions fully implemented, working well, and saving our clients’ money, time, and resources. Creating product descriptions for online stores, catalogues, and other product presentations is now a matter of mere minutes with Pimics automatically generating comprehensive texts from product information. When it comes to automated translation, it’s still a good idea to have them checked by a human eye (so that nothing gets lost in translation) but no human has to spend time to actually type in the translations. Expanding to new markets becomes easier and much swifter for our clients. Very useful especially here in Europe where we speak so many languages!

Growing & Tending to Our Client Base

One of the key 2024 goals for Pimics was to test whether we could handle a steady growth of clients. And we’re thrilled to say: we can! The number of new clients we acquired in 2024 increased by 66% in comparison to the previous year.The family of Pimics clients now geographically stretches from the chilly North of Sweden to sunny Spain in the South!
On that note, it’s important to say that this growth was very intentional and well-balanced. While we could surely have taken on even more new clients, we intentionally limited onboarding to ensure we could maintain the high standards we’re known for. After all, at Pimics, it’s not just about acquiring clients — it’s about delivering on our promises and building long-term relationships.
Thanks to that, our 2024 business results look outstanding on paper: Our yearly turnover has increased by 150%!

Translating Success into Numbers

Numbers don’t lie, and they tell us that 2024 was a year of growth:
  • Over 1,000 individual users now rely on Pimics daily to manage their product information. These aren’t just companies — they’re the people behind the screens, making sure their data is structured, accurate, and ready to power their operations.
  • Our German branch also saw expansion, onboarding new team members and growing by 71%. We can’t wait to see everyone at our January teambuilding to celebrate and plan for 2025!

What’s Next?

As we close out 2024, we’re filled with excitement for what’s ahead. In the coming year, we aim to continue growing at a sustainable pace, ensuring that every new client and user gets the same level of care and quality we’re proud to provide.
And yes, we’ll be keeping a close eye on emerging trends and challenges in the PIM world. Whether it’s new regulatory demands like the Digital Product Passport or evolving customer needs, we’ll be ready to adapt and innovate.
